10 tips for healthier eating this summer

Looking to eat healthier this summer (and every season after)?

Here’s 10 tips to help you do just that:

1. Slow down- eating more mindfully can improve digestion & allow you to tune into your body's signals
2. Focus on a variety of plant foods- evidence continues to show the benefits of eating a diversity of plant based foods. Try going meatless on Mondays or add in a few plant based dinners!
3. Meal plan & prep- having healthy options readily available throughout the week makes making healthy choices much easier
4. Prioritize protein- quinoa, tofu, tempeh, & lentils are all great sources of protein
5. Start your day with a nourishing breakfast- add some fuel to your day by starting with a balanced breakfast! Tip: try adding in healthy fats, protein, fiber & fruits/veggies for sustained energy
6. Go on a walk after meals- to help stimulate healthy digestion
7. Move your mindset to adding in- try focusing on all the healthy foods you can add in instead of the foods you feel you have to eliminate
8. Be cautious of extreme diets- not only are extreme diets unhelpful, but they can actually be harmful to our health!

10. Remember that healthy eating is also about balance- food shouldn't come with a side of guilt! Make room for balance & enjoyment to sustain your healthy eating habits
